Day 1
Hurray we say, it's Buddha's birthday! We wanted to partake in all the fun, so a little bit of trekking had to be done. We made our way to Insadong, where we laughed and partied all night long. So many floats we did see, little did we know that we would be… Marching in the parade with lanterns in hand, stepping to the beat of a Korean band. We waved and we smiled and went with glee, to a colorful temple as bright as could be. We turned our feet and hit the street because we had heard an unusual beat. It was there that we found a crowd so vast, dancing in circles and having a blast. Paper snow swirled and filled the sky, at last it was time to say goodbye.

Keep in mind that all of the following "lanterns" are made with traditional Korean paper, metal, paint, patients, and lots of man hours. |

The crew who entertained us for hours (we also think they're the inspiration for Hotdog on a Stick's uniforms) |

Took 2 months and lots of people to make these lanterns. They are all made of metal, paper, and paint. |

ReplyDeleteIncredible. Love the marching twosome from the US. The lantern room looks awesome! Did I see a picture of a "pink" room with Jennifer in it?
ReplyDeleteIt was a tunnel of color changing lanterns that we caught at it's pinkest moment :) lol
